I think so too, but the results I’ve had with PeerIndex API for topics seemed far superior and precise. We’ll see where that goes.

Klout seems to be winning the mindshare battle here in Vancouver. People I follow on Twitter know their Klout score, well the keeners. I’ve been building some mashups and I got a Klout API key, but haven’t really done anything with it, but another service that ranks authority or influence online or in social media, is Topsy.com I did use there API, it doesn’t require a key and wasn’t hard to work with. It might be a Japanese company but there website is in English and more importantly so is documentation for the API. Topsy might be competing more with IceRocket or Technorati or Google’s Buzz search but it can return a twitter account given keywords…
