You go easy for the first 2/3 of the ride and when everybody is well warmed up and chit-chatting as slowed down, you start cranking up and see who’s still has something under the pedals ;-)

Seriously, it takes only one or 2 guys to drive a group and everybody benefits by riding faster for no added effort. That’s part of the whole fun of cycling.
